ACTS OF KINDNESS
“Kindness is one thing you can’t give away. It always comes back.” — George Skolsky
I’ve met some really kind people over the last few days here in Lexington, Kentucky. The hospital where my brother-in-law had surgery today is huge. So huge, in fact, that I walked 3-1/2 miles just going from the parking garage to his room and back throughout the day. Everyone we encountered throughout the day showed kindness in one form or another. My sister has spent many days at this hospital with her husband over the past year and a lot of the workers recognized her and inquired about her husband. In a hospital this size with thousands of workers, it amazed me to observe this. A sign in the nurse’s area on his floor says, “Nurses have heart.” They certainly do! They are among the underappreciated workers in the world.
Dear Angels, showing compassion and kindness is a gift we give others, especially those who are going through tough life challenges. In a world that can often feel divided and chaotic, kindness serves as a beacon of hope and unity. It reminds us that, at our core, we are all connected by our shared humanity. As the Dalai Lama once said, "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."
Dear Ones, we say to you again and again that you are here to be a lighthouse, a beacon shining out into the darkness. When you step up to answer your calling and shine your light through acts of kindness, you not only are a blessing to someone else but you also receive an influx of love in your heart through your actions. Love is all that is forever. As you bless others with your kindness, you inspire them to pay it forward, creating a chain reaction of goodwill and positivity. This is how you change a planet.
Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste, y’all.
Today, I promise to take every opportunity to do acts of kindness.
