AND AREN’T WE BEAUTIFUL

sunlight shining through trees

“There is beauty before me, there is beauty behind me. There is beauty to my left, there is beauty to my right. There is beauty above me, there is beauty below me. There is beauty around me, there is beauty within me. One that forever lives the trail of harmony and greatness.”  A Navajo Way

Several years ago, I participated in a one-day event called “A Day of Transformation” where various presenters shared a spiritual practice. One of the presenters shared and at the end of his presentation he said, “And aren’t we all beautiful?” For me, this was one of the highlights of the day. We just are not used to being called beautiful, yet as the Navajo writing shares, we most certainly hold beauty in all aspects of our lives. Why is it so hard to accept this teaching? As I sat with the angels, we explored this very question.

Dear Angels, while it’s easy to perceive beauty in a sunrise or the laughter of a child, why is it often so difficult to see that same beauty within ourselves? Beauty already exists within us because we are creations of divine love. So why is there such a struggle to accept it?

Dear Ones, you come into this world as radiant beings, wide-eyed and untouched by criticism. But as you grow, you accumulate wounds—judgments, disappointments, comparisons—that dim your light. These experiences plant seeds of self-doubt, convincing you to focus on imperfections rather than the exquisite divinity in your essence. When you fixate on what you are not, you forget who you truly are. This forgetfulness leads to disharmony, not because beauty no longer exists but because you have turned away from it, like clouds blocking the sunlight. Accepting the beauty within is not an act of vanity but a step toward harmony. When you see your own light, it illuminates the path for others, encouraging them to find their way back to their inner beauty. Together, this ripple effect creates a collective trail of greatness, one that transforms not just individuals but the world itself. You are, and always have been, a divine masterpiece. Beauty surrounds you, but most importantly, beauty resides within you—forever waiting to be embraced. When will you accept the truth of your magnificence? Remember these words of David, the psalmist:

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:

Marvellous are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.

My substance was not hid from thee,

When I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect;

And in thy book all my members were written,

Which in continuance were fashioned,

When as yet there was none of them.

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God!

How great is the sum of them!

If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand:

When I awake, I am still with thee.”

Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.

Today, I promise to always see beauty inside myself and all other beings.
