BEING REAL

“Live so that when your children think of fairness, caring, and integrity, they think of you.”  H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

When I think of people I want to surround myself with to enjoy their company and/or learn from, one quality always stands out – integrity. As I observe the people in my life, it is important to me that this quality be present consistently. It’s not judgmental; it is simply a matter of trust. We learn as we grow about who we can trust … who will hold a confidence … who will tell the truth even if it is uncomfortable … who will have our back in any situation. This is integrity, which is of the utmost importance when building a spiritual support group. Jim Rohn said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” It does matter who we surround ourselves with, so choose wisely.

Dear Angels, people will either inspire us or drain us. I have discovered, however, that sometimes it takes a while for someone to show us the truth about their trustworthiness. Integrity is not always something you can look at somebody and know for certain how they are. We must depend on our intuition and give enough time to get to know the people in our lives.

Dear Ones, indeed, a person’s character will always be revealed through time and interaction. Can people change? Absolutely! We are talking about when someone is being deceptive about how they truly feel or act. We encourage you to use your intuition and be open-minded. Keep communication lines open. If you see behaviors or attitudes that are inconsistent with who you believe a person truly is, then hold a discussion to express your concern over what you are witnessing. It is not always easy to confront another person, but sometimes it is necessary to gain insight, and perhaps the other person can benefit from seeing themselves through your eyes. You are here to help each other; to walk each other home to your true nature, which is love. Be gentle with each other. However, it is important to be able to trust those in your inner circle and if you feel that trust has been broken, then you have choices. Do not allow anyone else to drain your energy or take advantage of you. It is better to hold a discussion, as uncomfortable as it may be, than to continue a relationship that is not in alignment with your best and highest good.

Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste, y’all.

Today, I promise to always be open in my relationships without judgment.
