Beyond The Mountain

“Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace.” Dalai Lama

Some people thrive off of the energy of chaos and seeing how much discord can be created in their world. At the other extreme are those who believe in good and that something can be done to change the world. In a song by Carrie Underwood called “Change” she sings “Oh, the smallest thing can make all the difference. Love is alive, don't listen to 'em when they say you're just a fool, just a fool to believe you can change the world. The world's so big it can break your heart and you just want to help not sure where to start, so you close your eyes, and send up a prayer into the dark.” There are many of us out here who send up those prayers for the homeless down on their luck, for those suffering from disease, from the broken-hearted and abused. There are also many who, having been touched by some of these things on a personal level, go above and beyond to take action even if it is seemingly in a small way. A cup of coffee or a hot meal means the world to someone who hasn’t eaten in days. These acts of kindness are more important than you may realize. They also help to counterbalance those who keep stirring up the proverbial pot of discord and discontent in the world.

Dear Angels, sometimes it feels as if the little bit I can do to help in the world is like a penny being thrown into the vast ocean. There is so much hurt and need in the world. I would love to wave a magic wand and see all the pain go away and peace fall on the earth just as John Lennon “imagined.” I know it is complicated to move the mountain, but I believe that with enough faith and perseverance we can make a difference.

Dear Ones, the desire in your heart is the starting point to enable change to take place in your world. When enough hearts get in sync with that same vision, indeed the mountain will begin to move and not look insurmountable. The issue at the moment is your focus. You are living in a time where one fire after another pop up to be dealt with. There will always be issues crying out for attention and you will be presented with more and more things to distract you from your true mission and purpose for being in the world. Dear Ones, do not be deceived. Every act of kindness and every desire to make a difference does matter. The key is to keep putting that effort forth. Every step you take is important and each one following that first step is what creates the momentum. Yes, you can effect change in the world with your own two hands. Reach them out to your fellow earth-mates and reach them upward to your higher self. Don’t fear that the mountain is too high, instead set your sights beyond the mountain to the sky. It is wide open and has no limit. That is you when you allow yourself to know the depth of your magnificence.

Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.

Today, I promise to keep my eyes on the sky and know that there are no limits to the depth of my love.
