Celebrate The Return

“Death is nature’s way of saying your table is ready.” Robin Williams

I met Ruth’s friend, Jeanne, and her husband Al on my very first visit to Colorado. They were both retired and Jeanne is a wonderful artist, so I spent some time visiting in her basement art workshop. I was already familiar with her paintings as some are featured on the walls of several local restaurants. She was warm and welcoming as was her husband. A few months ago, Al was diagnosed with cancer of the blood. He went onto our prayer list and remains there to this day. I knew that Ruth had been helping them out as much as possible with bringing food and spending time with both. On Sunday when I asked about Al, I was asked to hold space as he was dying. He was taken to a Hospice center in another town. I visited Al there today along with Ruth and Jeanne. Walking into the room, my heart went out to him and to his lovely wife. There on the bed lay a frail shadow of the man I met only a couple of years ago. He had been agitated and irritable at home, yet there he was as still as a snow-laden field. Ruth and I stayed with him for a bit praying and talking and I know in my heart that he heard our words. Please pray for this sweet man as he makes his transition and for his wife, Jeanne and his beloved friends.

Dear Angels, I know we volunteer to have this experience in a human body and that all of us have to face that moment when we shed the bodysuit to return to spirit. It doesn’t make the experience any less traumatic to know this, however. Nor does it comfort the loved ones who bid farewell to their spouse or family member.

Dear Ones, indeed we do not minimize any of the experiences you have in your lifetime and especially the entry and exit process. We encourage you, Dear Ones, to celebrate both events equally. As you make your transition, you take with you all the love you gathered in your lifetime, all your beautiful moments shared with loved ones as well as the lessons learned and how it affected you. When a loved one leaves their body behind and moves on to the spirit realm, there is a joyful welcoming that happens upon reuniting with loved ones who have been waiting. Rejoice with them, Dear Ones, and embrace the beautiful spirit who is now free.

Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.

Today, I promise to honor each person’s passing into spirit as a cause to celebrate them home.
