FINDING SUCCESS IN FAILURE

mushroom

"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." — Nelson Mandela.

I’ve had many failures in my lifetime – those things I would consider to be failures, that is. I know we judge ourselves harsher than anyone else possibly could so when I say failure, it is me not achieving a goal or setting aside a dream. In the realm of spirituality, what we often label as "failure" is simply a misalignment between our expectations and reality. Our society is obsessed with success, defining it by external achievements—money, status, and accolades. When we don't meet these societal standards, we are quick to label ourselves as failures. Yet, from a spiritual viewpoint, these external markers are fleeting and ultimately meaningless.

Dear Angels, true failure is not about missing out on external rewards but about losing connection with our inner self. When we judge ourselves harshly for not achieving a certain goal, we lose sight of our true purpose and potential. This disconnect is what causes suffering, not the actual event or outcome. How do we transform the pain of “failure” into wisdom?

Dear Ones, we would remind you that in the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna advises Arjuna to perform his duty without attachment to success or failure. This teaching was given to remind you that your true purpose is not to cling to the fruits of your actions but to engage in life fully and authentically, regardless of the outcome. Failure, then, is not a defeat but a step on the path to spiritual enlightenment. Reflect on what the perceived failure is teaching you. Perhaps it is urging you to let go of rigid expectations, to develop greater resilience, or to deepen your compassion for yourself and others. Each failure is a mirror reflecting aspects of yourselves that need healing and growth. By embracing your perceived failures, you can transform them into powerful catalysts for spiritual growth, guiding you ever closer to the realization of your true nature.

Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste, y’all.

Today, I promise to stop being so harsh toward myself and my perceived failures.
