GRATITUDE MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD
“Do one thing every day that scares you.” -Eleanor Roosevelt
Well, I don’t get scared easily these days. What I have experienced in the course of my lifetime has been scary enough to last me several lifetimes. Today began a big adventure for me – attending the Transplant Games of America. I made a commitment to myself when I signed up to attend that I would give it my best effort, and that is what I intend to do no matter what. Tomorrow I am participating in a 5K walking event, which is a little over 3 miles. It is hot and humid here in Birmingham, so I am grateful that we are getting started early in the morning. My only expectation regarding this event is that I give it my all. I could be the last one to cross the finish line. I may have to stop before the finish. Whatever happens is what will happen. I intend to have fun and enjoy myself. There is also a parade which I will be walking in for the opening ceremonies. I am part of the Quarter Century Club group, where you must have 25-plus years of a successful transplant to join. They surprised me today and gave me my 50-year pin, although I will be celebrating 49 years on Sunday. The Games only happen every other year so I am celebrating early! Our group is being honored and will be at the front of the parade and in the front row at the ceremony. My gratitude cup is overflowing at being able to participate this year.
Dear Angels, when I look back over the last 49 years of my life, I can honestly say that there was not a day I woke up that I did not express gratitude for another day. This second chance at life is something that no one can fully understand unless they experience it. Right now, I am surrounded by thousands of people who have that understanding, which is truly amazing. I believe the more gratitude we show in life, the more we are given to be grateful for.
Dear Ones, gratitude is something that keeps growing as you continue to feel it in your heart. It cannot be contained inside your human vessel. It has to be expressed and when you do so, you receive it back to you and even more powerfully than it was given. We encourage you to find something in every day to be grateful for. This will create a beautiful experience as you walk through your journey of life. Express your gratitude to others in your life. In doing so, you are sharing unconditional love. This will make a difference in the frequency of your planet; thus, you are making a huge impact. Continue that wave and let it spread to reach more people each day.
Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste, y’all.
Today, I promise to express my gratitude each day.
