Happy Earth Day Mama Gaia
“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together … all things connect.” —Chief Seattle
I love the insight our forefathers had. This is one of my favorite quotes about the interconnectedness of life and the oneness of all. What one of us does affects the others. So many times we do not realize that. I have been in some of the most beautiful parts of the USA and there within that beauty is garbage so disrespectfully thrown on the ground, discarded without a thought of how it is marring the beauty of the land. Many of the national and state parks have a rule of “pack in pack out” meaning that whatever you bring into the park you bring back out with you. There are no garbage receptacles and they make that perfectly clear when you enter. I pray that we wake up and realize that these actions of polluting the land carelessly does affect us all and not just in taking away from the beauty but also in creating harm to humans and animals as the toxic waste builds. There is a Native American chant which says, “The Earth is our mother, we must take care of her.” As we celebrate Earth Day tomorrow, please hold these words in your heart.
Dear Angels, I know we cannot control the actions of others. Is there something that can be done, though, to help us all wake up to how we affect each other with our actions?
Dear Ones, the blatant disregard of the earth and its inhabitants is of utmost concern. The more this act continues on the earth plane, the more disease and harm there is to animals and humans. Dear Ones, we encourage you to think of your children and your children’s children. If you destroy the earth with your carelessness, there will not be a place for them to reside. Take a moment to pick up that discarded cup or bag but better yet, be more mindful of your actions and how it affects others. It always does.
Dear Angels, thank you. I love you and I love our Mama Gaia. Namaste y’all.
Today I promise to choose hope, even when the future is uncertain

It is amazing that your thoughts run so true and reflect the same thoughts that have been bothering me lately. Earth Day has been a major part of my life since I was a teacher. We won school contests decorating our pods together and other door-decorating contests as we celebrated the end (but the beginning) of life-long actions for my students. Thank you, Teri, for putting your thoughts down so that we can all remember to observe Earth Day Every Day.
