KINDNESS AND LOVE

Teri and Andrea

"Go out of your way to make others happy. You cannot please everybody, but to those souls who cross your path, give kindness and love. There is no more liberating action than sincerely to give people kindness in return for unkindness."  Paramahansa Yogananda

Kindness has been missing in action lately. In fact, it’s been hiding for the majority of this entire year. While we cannot please everyone—nor should we try—, we can choose to offer warmth, compassion, and kindness to those we encounter. These small, sincere actions hold the power to lift others up and set our own hearts free. Focusing on being benevolent towards others brings us to a higher state of being. If we know and understand this, why on earth do we not do it? Something as small as holding the door for a stranger, offering a genuine compliment, giving someone a ride to an appointment or smiling at someone who seems down are things that might seem trivial, but to the one on the receiving end, they could be exactly the encouragement they needed. Often, those little acts become memorable moments that people carry with them, warming them like rays of sunlight on a cold day.

Dear Angels, it is time for us to get back to the basics of being humane in this world. Showing kindness is the simplest and most heart-warming thing we can offer others. We need help in remembering this.

Dear Ones, choosing kindness in the face of unkindness may be one of the most empowering things you can do. When someone responds to you with anger, sarcasm, or negativity, choosing to meet them with gentleness is an act of courage. It is an affirmation that you are not beholden to anyone else’s moods or judgments. Instead, you are acting from a place of inner strength and love. It’s natural to want to respond in kind when someone treats you poorly, but returning love for unkindness breaks that cycle. It allows you to step away from the need to be “right” and frees you from the chains of resentment. In choosing love, you stop letting others’ behavior dictate your peace, and in doing so, you reclaim your power. After all, forgiveness and kindness are as much gifts to yourselves as they are to others. For those moments when life feels heavy and people seem difficult, remind yourself that everyone is carrying some unseen weight. Just as you seek understanding, so do they. When you extend kindness, even to those who may not seem to “deserve” it, you create a little more grace in the world. And in that grace, you too are healed. So, make it your intention to go out of your way to bring joy to others. In the end, this choice does not diminish you; it enriches your life with meaning, connection, and inner peace.

Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.

Today, I promise to intentionally show kindness to others today to make this a better world one small gesture at a time.
