Love Is A Powerful Force

"Love is such a powerful force. It’s there for everyone to embrace-that kind of unconditional love for all of humankind. That is the kind of love that impels people to go into the community and try to change conditions for others, to take risks for what they believe in.” Coretta Scott King

These last two days felt like I had entered the twilight zone. Do you remember that series from back in the day? Everything that happened seemed so surreal, right? Well, that is exactly how things went since leaving Las Vegas. First there was a famous desert dust storm which was closing down on the road I was traveling on. I made it through that, barely missing it and seeing it in the rearview mirror behind me crossing the road. Now there was clear sky ahead so I relaxed and started enjoying the ride as I admired the beauty of the desert, eventually entering California. Things were going along smoothly – until they weren’t. clouds built and the rain began. It wasn’t too bad and I grinned and persevered. Again, dry roads but still some clouds. All of a sudden, it was like a switch flipped and wet white stuff started appearing everywhere. It was swirling and coming at me so fast it was dizzying. I could see nothing and prayed like never before. A big truck stayed in front of me driving slowly and I followed his taillights, which were the only thing I could see. I was only a couple of hours from my destination, but between the wind of the dust storm and the blizzard snowstorm, I was a mess and needed to just sit for a minute. I saw an exit was coming up and took it.

Fortunately, one of my favorite truck stops was there which is Love’s. I pulled in and found a spot to park before the storm came back in force with dropping temperatures and swirling wet snow. I let my friend know I had stopped and how bad the conditions were. She thought that it would be clear on down the road and I should be able to make it through to clear weather. I considered this and asked the angels for guidance. I looked up and saw blue lights on the freeway. They were guiding all vehicles off the road so they could close it. I heard the policeman say it was a solid sheet of ice. That was why the angels had me exit as they knew how treacherous it was ahead. Spending the night in my vehicle was no fun, especially in freezing temperatures. I had some blankets but nothing that would help against the elements. Friends started checking on me and I ended up with the fab four who stayed with me throughout the night virtually, waking me intermittently to turn on the car and allow my body to warm back up. They never left my side, staying awake all night to make sure I was safe and not experiencing hypothermia. The next day the storm continued and it was not looking good to travel. In the afternoon the freeway opened back up and just as it did the skies opened again with blowing snow. My fab four went to work to find me a hotel and gathering resources for me to be able to stay there. Others contacted me with offers of financial help with the unexpected expense. I ended up with a paid hotel room and money for gas and food as well. Another friend had called once she learned what happened and during our talk I mentioned that I needed to drive my car closer to the door of the truck stop so I could go to the bathroom without walking through the snow. She stayed on the phone with me, encouraging me that I could do it – and I did. A hot cup of coffee was just what the doctor ordered!

Several other things started happening – a glitch with the car’s power steering which went out and then came back on its own, ending up at the wrong hotel which had a dead bird by the front door, and eventually a warm bed where I could tune out the world and really sleep for the first time in over 24 hours. My thoughts on all of this? In life we are handed different situations and scenarios. I had a choice of how to deal with it all. I could have become bitter and felt like a victim caught up in some kind of twisted universal energy to show me how hostile the world can be; or I could look at the beautiful way everyone was showing me what true unconditional love looks like. As I entered the hotel room and laid down immediately to stretch out on the bed, the enormity of it all overtook me and my heart became so full it brought tears to my eyes. I laid there thanking God for the love I experience in my life, for those who are unwilling to give up on me and help me to keep keeping on, for those who believe in the journey and that it is not a small thing to undertake, for those who are unafraid of saying the words I love you and set about to prove it time and time again. Those tears that fell from my eyes were a release of any doubts and insecurities that had ever been inside my heart. They were a true testament that I am not alone. They were confirmation that this is exactly where I am supposed to be and doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing. In giving gratitude, I realized my inner strength and it is joined by my fab four and all those beautiful souls surrounding the mission.

Dear Angels, tonight I just want to thank you for showing up for me in life and bringing in extra troops. One friend asked which angel was the “snow angel” to which I replied that it may be Uriel who is the one who helps us connect with Mama Gaia. As she connected with him to ask for the snowfall to stop, it did. Blue skies appeared and I was able to make it to the hotel. Angels, thank you for listening.

Dear Ones, we are always listening, always aware of needs and helping guide you to answers. Those “twilight zone” moments of life can only be unpleasant or uncomfortable if you allow it to be so. As you deal with each thing that comes your way you become stronger. It is only when you throw your arms up in defeat that you shrink down and miss the blessing. Each incident is a lesson for you to expand your heart, just as you did when you finally knew the fire was put out and you could breathe. Faith will take you to the other side of each fire with ease and grace. In holding trust and belief in your mind as you encounter whatever comes to you, you are able to see beyond the obvious which you consider an obstacle. Dear Ones, there are no obstacles. Do you not understand this lesson yet? It is only perceived by you as an obstacle because your eyes are not open to the miracle involved in the situation. Know that in each moment real love is available because it is inside of each person. You, Dear One, saw it in action. You were able to visualize it as it happened. Do you think that was an accident that it happened the way it did? Absolutely not. It was by Divine plan.

Dear Angels, I love my life. It is easy to say that when I am not thrust in the middle of a blizzard or watching the bizarre happenings in life. However, I am learning to love even those times as I know that there is a huge revelation involved. Thank you for opening my eyes to see what true love looks like. I love you. Namaste y’all.
