Love Without Judgment
“People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”- Rob Siltanen
If you are like me, you have probably met the following two types of people. I have especially encountered both on my Journey over the last year and a half. There are those who have a condescending cynical attitude. “You’re out to save the world? That’s nice. Let me know how it works for you.” These are the ones who sit in their comfortable chairs with the TV news on criticizing everything they see. They wouldn’t dare pick up the phone and call their governor or senator to talk about climate change or saving endangered species of animals.
The other type is what I call the “holders of the light.” These are the ones who are always ready to supply a cold drink, a hot meal, a bed for the night, to issue words of encouragement along the way to the visionaries who have their boots on the ground. I remember doing an overnight walk for breast cancer one year and boy was I ever grateful for these superstars who kept me going.
I want to tell you about one of many who have been a holder of the light for me along the Journey of the Peace On Earth Tour. I will eventually introduce you to them all as I consider them saints here on earth. In 2020, I was invited to come to El Paso, Texas by this pure soul who I only knew online as one of our Peas For Peace movement. Jean is who I would choose for a sister if I could have that choice in life. She is the most humble, caring lady you could ever expect to meet. To steal a line from my friend Karen, she is “too wonderful for words.” When I drove into El Paso on that cold Christmas Eve, I came a different way down her street than what she expected. She had been waiting for my car to arrive, standing out in the cold, and had placed welcoming signs on the stop sign at the street corner. This is how thoughtful she is! Jean just wants everyone to feel happiness and joy and if she can do anything to help that to happen, she will. She genuinely cares for the fellow Peas even though she has been unable thus far to meet any of them except me. I think that is about to change, however, and cannot wait for the rest of you to hold her in a big Jean hug. I have spent the last two Christmas holiday seasons with her in her warm loving home. She always treats me like family. If there is a need, she is going to step up to meet it. I love her hopeful “will this work?” as I mention something I don’t have readily available and she has thought of a solution. Jean is a team player, an encourager to all and always willing to volunteer if she can help in any way. She is a woman of deep faith and belief in God. When I read the Discourse On Love I think of her, especially the part that reads, “Let no one do harm to anyone.” Today, I salute this gentle soul sister who we lovingly call Auntie Jean. I love you sis.
Dear Angels, I am so grateful for those who have journeyed alongside me and I pray there is a special reward they will receive for their service work done here when they leave their human bodies. How do we love the cynics as much as the holders?
Dear Ones, we invite you to look at the YinYang symbol. What you are expressing is a comparison based on acts and attitudes, and not on the worth of the two opposing representatives you shared. The YinYang teaches that each is equally important and both are good, therefore not opposite at all. In holding one side up as higher than the other you are actually creating an imbalance in yourself through your thoughts. We say to you as any Master would as well, love without judgment. This, again, is not an easy lesson to learn in your humanity. The immediate desire is to gravitate to the one who shows you the most love and respect, correct? We honor you for praising those who are showing kindness and especially the dear one you shone a light on here. She indeed is one of the exalted ones. We humbly ask, Dear Ones, that you also pour love into those you choose to shy away from. You would not be able to see the deep meaning of the kind acts if you had not seen the ones who did nothing to help or scoffed at your efforts. Once you start practicing loving all and not selecting who to shower love on, you will understand the Master’s teachings of compassionate listening and loving speech. Perhaps the ones you judge to be uncaring or cynical carry a burden inside that you know nothing about. Your compassion may be the missing link in their life.
Dear Angels, thank you for this lesson which is indeed a difficult one. I’m willing to learn it and know I have much studying to do to achieve true understanding. Sigh. Thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.
