December 25th approaches swiftly, marked on calendars in bold, reminding us of the day we label “Christmas.” Yet, the magic of Christmas isn’t contained within a single date. It doesn’t depend on a time or place; it thrives in a state of mind, a consciousness we cultivate that transforms every day into a celebration of love, joy, and peace. As I sat visiting with my family today, we held a discussion about the true essence of Christmas and how it is not in material presents but more about presence. One of the purest ways to experience Christmas is through the eyes of a child. Their wonder mirrors the very essence of this sacred season—innocence, unfiltered joy, and an unshakeable belief in the magic of goodness. They teach us that Christmas isn’t about perfectly wrapped presents or well-rehearsed carols; it’s about presence—the love we give and the connections we nurture.
Dear Angels, how do we capture the awe and wonder of this special time of year and look beyond society’s call to “shop until you drop”? How do we truly honor Jesus and the true reason for the season?
Dear Ones, how would you act differently if every moment shimmered with the possibility of kindness? Children know the secret—they are fully immersed in the now, savoring the sights and sounds of their surroundings with gratitude that flows effortlessly from their hearts. In the nativity story, the Christ child came into the world with nothing but love. His arrival wasn't marked by material splendor but by the profound truth that love is the greatest gift. And isn’t that the message that fills the air every time we whisper “Merry Christmas”? To embrace Christmas as a state of mind, it is necessary to rekindle your own childlike spirit. Start with wonder. Marvel at the twinkle of lights, the crisp chill in the air, the generosity of someone’s smile. Then add gratitude for both the grand blessings and the tiniest miracles—a phone call from a loved one, a warm cup of tea, the stillness of a quiet morning. Finally, let compassion guide your actions. Seek opportunities to share, to encourage, and to offer hope to those whose hearts might feel heavy this season. This practice doesn’t need to end when the calendar flips. When you nurture the spirit of Christmas in your daily lives, every act of kindness becomes a strand in the garland of grace. Every small joy becomes a bulb in the constellation of wonder. And every moment of love brings you closer to the Divine essence within each of you. We encourage you to honor Christmas not just as a day but as a declaration—a heartfelt proclamation that love and peace are alive, burning brightly in the fireplace of your soul. In the eyes of a child, this truth shines undeniably clear. When you choose to live with their same hopeful innocence, you embody the spirit of Christmas, radiating its light into the world. May this Christmas season awaken the child within you and remind you that the magic of love is timeless and boundless. The choice is yours to carry it forward, creating the wonder of Christmas anew, every single day. May your heart be light and your spirit as vibrant as the angels who carry this message of joy to the world.
