Scott Myers so prolifically said, “There is only one story: nothing is as it seems.” One possible way of looking at this is that one should not rely upon appearances to make judgments: there is more to everything than simply what it looks like. What if up is not really above us and down is not below us? Can we take time to think outside the box long enough to stop blindly accepting what we are told? Our concepts and beliefs are what drive our actions. So, the best thing we can do is examine our actions and then see what concepts and beliefs are driving us to do what we do.
Dear Angels, perception shapes our understanding of the world. What we see and believe to be true is often a mere fragment of a larger, concealed reality. How many of us take the time to unravel what is right in front of us? So many times, we do not question what is presented as truth when it would benefit us to do so.
Dear Ones, in many spiritual traditions, the concept of Maya or illusion teaches that the world you perceive with your senses is not the ultimate reality. There are deeper layers of reality beyond what is immediately visible. Wise ones have shared the concept of the "inner eye" or "heart's eye" and teaches that true knowledge and understanding come from seeing with the heart, not just the physical eyes. This inner vision reveals the divine presence in all things and brings things into a clearer vision of reality. In doing so, your actions will turn more to acts of compassion and love, and see the Divine in yourselves and others.
