Perfect Timing
“I don’t need to weep that it’s over … I need to rejoice that it happened.” Unknown
God’s delay is not God’s denial. I heard my friend Sharron say this many times. She always encouraged me to be strong on my journey. I remember when I first met her. She had invited me to come to her home for tea. She so loved her tea. We sat in her living room in Hot Springs, California which had an awesome view of the mountain range. She lovingly referred to those mountains as her Himalayas. I thought of that when she passed. I knew that she was at peace and had a much better view than she had on earth. When she used this phrase, whether in conversation or in a sermon, I saw it as a powerful reminder that when things don't seem to be going our way or when our prayers seem to go unanswered, it doesn't necessarily mean that God is ignoring us or saying no to our requests. Instead, it could mean that God has a greater plan for us that requires patience, trust, and faith.
In life, we often face situations where we desire something deeply but are forced to wait for it. It could be a job promotion, a relationship, or healing from an illness. During these times, we may feel frustrated, disappointed, and even angry with God. We may ask ourselves, "Why is God not answering my prayers? Doesn't he care about me?" I certainly can’t deny feeling this way in moments of frustration. Those moments are fewer and further between nowadays. As a student of the Course In Miracles, I have a better grasp on perception and patience, both of which are necessary to avoid raising a pointed finger towards the heavens and blaming God for my unfilled wishes.
Dear Angels, I love the story of Joseph from the Bible, as he is one of my spirit guides. Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers, wrongly accused of a crime, and spent years in prison. During this time, Joseph could have easily given up on God and his dreams. But instead, he remained faithful and trusted that God had a plan for his life. Eventually, Joseph's patience and trust in God led him to become a powerful ruler in Egypt and saved his family from starvation. Many times in my own life I have looked backwards to events that happened in order to get clarity on where I am today. We don’t always have the inside scoop on the stories of our lives.
Dear Ones, patience is a hard lesson to grasp for humans. You live in a time of instant gratification which carries over in all aspects of your life. God's timing is always perfect, and His delays are not a denial. It may take months, years, or even decades for your prayers to be answered, but remain faithful and trust in God's plan. Use this time to grow spiritually, seek God's guidance, and develop your character. When you think that your prayers are not being answered or you are not manifesting your wishes in the time you think it should happen, look outside of your expectations. You may have received your answer and missed it because it didn’t look the way you envisioned it would.
Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.
Today, I promise to lose my expectations and be pleasantly surprised when my miracle shows up.
