I grew up in a landlocked state and didn’t see the ocean until I was a teenager. On a trip to Virginia Beach, I fell in love with the beauty, the sound and the enormity of the Atlantic ocean. The ocean, in its boundless expanse, is a powerful metaphor for the divine. It is infinite, mysterious, and alive with possibility. To yearn for it is to feel the pull of the sacred—a longing for connection, meaning, and unity with the universe. This yearning is not about escaping life’s responsibilities but about infusing them with purpose. When we are captivated by the beauty of the ocean, the tasks of building the ship to sail on it become a labor of love, not a burden.In our spiritual journeys, we often get caught up in the “wood-collecting” of life: the to-do lists, the obligations, the endless striving to prove ourselves. But what if we paused and turned our gaze to the horizon? What if we allowed ourselves to be moved by the endless beauty of the divine, to feel the whisper of eternity in our hearts? This shift in focus transforms everything. It aligns our actions with our deepest desires and makes every step a sacred act.

Dear Angels, How do we learn to yearn for the sea in our own lives? I like to envision a community where every heart is stirred by a shared vision of beauty and possibility. In such a place, people don’t need to be coerced into action; they move willingly, joyfully, because they are in love with the dream.

Dear Ones, begin with stillness. In the quiet moments of prayer, meditation, or simply gazing at the stars, open yourselves to the beauty that surrounds you. Listen to the whispers of your soul, the ones that remind you of your deepest desires and highest aspirations. Find the beauty in the sunrise, in a kind word, in the laughter of a child. Let these moments remind you of the vastness of life’s possibilities. When you yearn for the endless beauty of the sea, your lives become a testament to the power of inspiration. The tasks you undertake—whether building a career, raising a family, or serving your community—cease to be mere duties. They become offerings to the divine, expressions of your love for the vastness of life. Dear Ones, do not be content with merely collecting wood or checking boxes. Lift your eyes to the horizon, feel the pull of the eternal, and teach others to do the same. In this yearning, you find not only the strength to build your ships but the courage to sail them into the boundless sea of possibility.

Angels Whisper: What is your “sea”? What vision stirs your heart and calls you to rise above the ordinary? Trust that the divine is guiding you. The ship will be built, not through force, but through the natural flow of inspired action. Share your yearning with those around you. Let your passion for the sea inspire them to dream, too. May your heart be stirred by the beauty of the divine today and always. May you yearn for the sea—and may that yearning carry you to places more wondrous than you ever imagined. Set sail, beloved soul. The sea is calling.
