SEEKING UNITY

“The consciousness in you and the consciousness in me, apparently two, really one, seek unity and that is love.” ― Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
At the deepest level of our existence, beyond the labels, identities, and separations we often cling to, there is something profound that unites us all—consciousness. It is the silent witness behind our thoughts, the essence of our being, and the awareness that gives life meaning. Everywhere we look, we see duality—me and you, light and dark, joy and sorrow. We are taught to define ourselves as individuals, distinct from one another. Yet, if we pause and look deeper, we realize that the same force that breathes life into one person breathes life into another. The consciousness within you—the awareness that perceives the world, that dreams, hopes, and wonders—is not different from mine. It is the same vast, infinite presence, merely experiencing itself through different eyes. This realization is what spiritual traditions have pointed to for centuries. The Upanishads teach, “Tat Tvam Asi”—“You are That.” Rumi, the great Sufi poet, wrote, “You and I are not we but one.” Modern science, too, hints at this unity through quantum physics, suggesting that at the most fundamental level, we are all connected energy fields rather than separate entities.
Dear Angels, if we are truly one at the core, then why do we feel separate? Why do we allow others' opinions and passions interfere with our peace of mind? Why do we react so strongly to those who spew bitterness and hatred ?
Dear Ones, the answer you seek lies in your perception. You have been conditioned to believe in differences—different backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences—without recognizing the unifying consciousness beneath it all. But love has the power to dissolve this illusion. Love is not just an emotion; it is the natural state of oneness. It is the recognition that “the joy of another is my joy, that their pain is my pain.” When you love deeply, whether in friendships, relationships, or even through acts of kindness, you momentarily transcend your individual selves and merge into something greater. This is why acts of love—compassion, forgiveness, empathy—feel so fulfilling. They bring you back to your true nature. When you choose love over fear, understanding over judgment, and unity over division, you are aligning with the very essence of existence. When you judge others, you reinforce separation. But when you choose to understand, you bridge the gap. When you choose to stay caught up in the low vibrational energy of bitterness and hatred, you are continuing the illusion of separation. Bitterness is like carrying a heavy chain around the soul. It often starts with a real hurt—betrayal, disappointment, loss—but when you hold onto it, refusing to let go, it begins to define you. You replay past wrongs, feed your resentment, and justify your anger. But the truth is, bitterness does not imprison the one whom you perceive has wronged you. instead, you become the imprisoned one. Imagine holding onto a burning coal, intending to throw it at someone who hurt you. Who gets burned first? The one holding the coal. In the same way, harboring bitterness only poisons your own heart. It robs you of peace, sours your relationships, and blinds you to the beauty of life. Forgiveness and acceptance are acts of unity. Forgiveness does not mean excusing wrongdoing. It means freeing yourself from the burden of resentment. It is an act of self-liberation.
Angels Whisper: The consciousness in you and the consciousness in others, though appearing separate, are truly one. And this oneness naturally seeks unity. Hatred is a prison; love is the key. The moment you let go of resentment, you reclaim your own joy. The moment you choose love over division, you step closer to the truth that you are not separate, you are one. So today, choose to release bitterness. Choose to dissolve hatred. Choose to return to love. Because in love, you find unity. And in unity, you find peace.
Today, I promise to keep making a choice of peace and unity. There is no place for hatred in my soul.
