SOUL SONG

a bird on a branch

"Love the life you live. Live the life you love." – Bob Marley

Today, I can honestly say that I love my life. Do I love every little thing – of course not! Life here on earth is about contrast, learning from our experiences and our “mistakes” and shining our light as brightly as we can. I struggled my entire life with self-image, worthiness and worrying about how others accepted me. I was a hot mess! Slowly, the layers peeled away and I was able to slough off the barriers to love. There was a lot of digging that had to take place to find that little girl who held so much hurt inside, who felt scared and alone so sometimes struck out at others in order to create a buffer. Fear, anxiety and worry made me feel like I was walking around with a coat of armor and the heaviness was suffocating. I remember the first time I started peeling off the layers. I was on my own for the first time in my life. I had just gotten out of a toxic relationship and found my smile. I couldn’t stop smiling. I wanted to explore the world. Music was a big part of my life and even today I remember the lyrics to songs I listened to in my teens. The day my smile appeared, I made a spontaneous decision to go to the Florida Keys and find music. I had no idea where to look but drove there anyway as if I were a bird following the ley  lines. I found music on the beaches and people who sang out loud to the songs just like me. I found reggae music and my soul soared because I could tell that it came from deep within the heart. Bob Marley wrote and sang a song called “Three Little Birds” which starts out with the line, “"Don't worry 'bout a thing, 'Cause every little thing gonna be all right." That was my mantra to myself and I still sing it out loud on a regular basis. These lyrics resonate with a timeless spiritual truth that invites us to release our anxieties and embrace a deep, abiding trust in the universe. Maya Angelou said, “A bird does not sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” Find the song within you.

Dear Angels, trust is the bridge between our present moment and the unknown that is our future. When we trust, we align ourselves with the divine flow of life, allowing ourselves to be carried by a force greater than our individual will. It is an act of surrender, not in the sense of giving up, but in the sense of giving over—handing our fears, doubts, and uncertainties to the Divine presence that holds all things together. If we are caught up in worry, we are not trusting. Worry is an unnecessary burden. Worry stems from the mind's need to control, to predict, to be certain of outcomes. But the truth is, control is an illusion. Life is a dance of unpredictability, and the more we try to control it, the more we find ourselves tangled and twisted up all because of a thought about an outcome that may never come to fruition. We become trapped in the web of our own making.

Dear Ones, everything, in its own time, will be all right. And in that truth, you can find peace. This is a spiritual truth that invites you into a deeper relationship with trust, with surrender, and with the divine timing of your lives. It is a call to let go of the need to control and to rest in the assurance that you are being guided by a wisdom far greater than your own. You are not alone in this journey. You are supported by a loving universe that has your back, that knows your needs, and that is working behind the scenes to ensure that every little thing is working perfectly as is God’s divine plan for your life. Worry has no place in this scenario. You are only building a barrier that blocks your vision of the truth. You’ve got this. We’ve got you. Let go of those reins you are holding so tight. Relax and enjoy your journey. Learn to love your life, love yourself and love those traveling with you on your journey.

Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste, y’all.

Today, I promise to continue falling back into my heart and trust that everything is working perfectly.
