THE BUCK STOPS HERE
“If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn't sit for a month.” Theodore Roosevelt
Yeah, I learned this lesson decades ago! Trust me, it is not an easy one to learn. It is so easy to point fingers at others or a situation when something goes wrong. In one of my past jobs, I was in a supervisory position and dealt with upper level management. On instruction from my boss, I had taken action on some financial decisions. One day there was a blow up in the office when one of the managers came to our department demanding answers for something that had happened. My boss used me as the scapegoat as if I had made the decision on my own. He sacrificed me to save himself. That was when the lesson finally made sense to me. Blaming others never ends up well.
Dear Angels, blaming others is such an easy trap to fall into. I think the hardest thing for me was to stop blaming God for everything that went wrong. After all, it is the person at the top who has all the responsibility, right? Do you remember “the buck stops here?” Well, I held God to that for a very long time without considering my part of the equation. Surely, God would take responsibility, and I would be off the hook.
Dear Ones, this is a similar lesson to the one where you are looking for a superhero, someone to save you or pull you out of your dilemma. If you are looking outside of yourself for either someone to blame or someone to rescue you, you are misguided. We say to you, stand in your Divine authority and be your own rescue. In other words, take responsibility for your life. Own up to the decisions you make and the subsequent consequences. When you do this, you will no longer be the baby crawling and thinking that is as far as it can go. You will be standing tall and stepping forward as if you owned the world. Which, in fact, you do! Live your magnificence.
Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste, y’all.
Today, I promise to stop blaming and focus on the lesson.
