The Dance
“Life is the dancer and you are the dance.” Eckhart Tolle
One of my favorite lines from a song is “If you get the chance to sit it out or dance, I hope you’ll dance.” Life is way too short to sit on the sidelines and let everyone else enjoy the party. If we are truly in control, as we are so often told, we should have a say-so in our dance. The reality is that it does not matter how you look out on the dance floor, it just matters that you are there. When we deprive ourselves of doing something because we think we might be made fun of or criticized, we are only hurting ourselves. Those “what if’s” stifle our joy and creativity. It really does not matter one bit what others say. They are not living your life, you are. If you are dancing to their tune all the time and letting someone else play the music, you are not showing up for you. You are showing up for someone else.
Dear Angels, for most of my life I worried about what others would think or say about how I lived my life. I walked on eggshells a lot. I held back words and shrank down, dimming my light. How can we move beyond this mindset to achieve more balance in our lives?
Dear Ones, unless you are totally secluded from all of society there is going to be interaction with others. You will do your dance with many people during your lifetime. You cannot live up to everyone else’s expectations and achieve peace and contentment. It is important to know what you want, what you feel, what your opinions are and become confident in living up to your own expectations. You have to be priority. Your spiritual growth is more important than disappointing someone else. Not everyone has your best interests at heart. Make sure you do.
Dear Angels, that is beautiful insight. Thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.
