The Message Of The Trees

“Give me a quiet life, give me trees, the wind through them, give me a sea and the song it sings. Give me heartbeats shared with those I love, give me peace and a long deep sleep.” – Tyler Knott Gregson

Trees of every shape and size have shown up for me across this amazing country of ours. As I looked upward at the giant redwoods in California, I felt very small as I watched them reach toward the heavens.

Not to be outdone in beauty, the quaking aspen in Colorado get its name from its small, circular leaves that flutter back and forth in the wind, giving the impression that the tree itself is quaking. These beautiful trees with white trunks typically reach heights somewhere between 30 and 50 feet. Amazingly, a stand or group of aspen trees is considered a singular organism with the main life force underground in the extensive root system. Before a single aspen trunk appears above the surface, the root system may lie dormant for many years until the conditions are just right, including sufficient sunlight.

The sugar maple tree is another spectacular tree that caught my attention while in Vermont. Each tree is unique in its beauty and grace. I’ve hugged each one of these trees from one coast to the other. The message they give is the same, however, and if you stand in their presence long enough and are very quiet you will hear it. It is a message of hope in a world that seems to have lost sight of that. It is a message of peace and encouragement to pursue that more in our world. It is a message of strength, showing resilience against the forces of nature. We are encouraged by the trees to embrace all of these qualities that they whisper to us to pay attention to. The beautiful redwoods are nearly indestructible in their resistance to fire.

Dear Angels, nature intrigues and fascinates me and especially our amazing trees. What lesson can we learn from them?

Dear Ones, as you experience life here on your planet you will encounter no greater teacher than the trees. There is a reason they do not speak out loud to you. You must get close to hear their message being transmitted in their silence. It is not through loud vociferous bellowing and shouting that you will receive answers. It is through these silent representatives of God. They answer only to a higher power. They are humble yet magnificent in their state of beingness. They do not force their opinions or will on anyone. They simply enjoy giving of themselves, whether it be shade, shelter or food. Their roots run deep and they stay grounded in who they are. They communicate with each other reverently through an intricate process quietly and surely without judgment or criticism of anything they encounter. Trust me, Dear Ones, when one of them is separated from their companions the absence is felt among the many. They endure many hardships yet they stand firm without complaining.

We trust you are getting our message here. The message of hope, peace, encouragement and strength in a world that can try to overpower you through all the elements on your planet – air, fire, wind and earth. When you listen to these amazing teachers, you will hear them telling you to stay strong in who you are, to be more resilient, to not fear death but rather stay in the present and enjoy the journey.
