There Is A Mona Lisa In All Of Us
“It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.”
~Leonardo da Vinci
Several years ago, I became intrigued with Leonardo da Vinci. I couldn’t absorb the information quickly enough about the man who gave the world the most famous painting ever, the Mona Lisa. Leonardo’s back story is so interesting and miraculous in its unfolding. He was born illegitimately and raised by his father, had little very little formal education (just the basics or what we used to call reading, ‘riting and ‘rithmetic), was an inventor though no one paid attention to what he envisioned including a helicopter, an accomplished musician and a writer. And from this man with such humble beginnings emerged such great works of art as The Last Supper and Mona Lisa. He was never satisfied with his art and worked on Mona Lisa for well over a decade until he suffered a stroke just before his death. It is now considered priceless and cannot be bought. I have often thought about all the talent in our world – wonderful musicians, artists and writers – and how many of them are not satisfied with their work and thus the world is deprived of their creations.
Dear Angels, I believe we all have gifts that can be developed yet there are some who have raw talent which comes so effortlessly. I do not envy anyone their gifts or their talent, but I admire it when I see or hear it. How do we get beyond our limiting thoughts of not being worthy so our gifts can shine?
Dear Ones, no one can give you that sense of worthiness. It has to come from within; yet, it can be nurtured and encouraged by those you surround yourself with. Many in da Vinci’s world saw his talent, saw perfection where he did not and wanted him to succeed. Sometimes, Dear Ones, it is difficult to see your beauty that shines forth until you see it reflected in the eyes of another. This is why it is so important to show love to each other, to speak encouraging words and to allow the beauty to unfold in this nurturing environment. When you see beauty and talent in another, you are only recognizing that same thing in yourself. It is a win-win to help each other recognize this. Honor the spark of the Divine that is in each one of you. Link arm in arm as you traverse the road that brings you back home.
Dear Angels, thank you. I love you. Namaste y’all.
Today, I promise to nurture my worthiness and be a mirror for others to see their bright light.
