True Friendship
“True friendship comes when silence between two people is comfortable”
David Tyson Gentry
A few years ago I met someone who would prove to be one of the most invaluable friends in my entire life. We were introduced by a mutual friend who thought I might be a fit for a women’s summit she was doing. When Ruth and I spoke for the first time it was like coming home. She was so easy to talk to and I knew there was something special about her and wanted to spend more time getting to know her. We did just that over the last few years. We have met in person many times now in different parts of the country as I have traveled around with the peace mission I am on, the Peace On Earth Tour. She has flown or driven to meet me whenever possible and I have visited her in her home state of Colorado. I had been inside her home in Boulder and met her family and many of her local friends. When she lost that home in December of last year, I felt my heart sink. I knew how much she loved her view of the Colorado Rockies and I also knew the treasures which were contained in the house that held such special meaning to her. When I came back to Boulder last month, I spent time with Ruth at the site. As we turned the corner where her house once stood, I got a knot in the pit of my stomach. I knew what my eyes were supposed to see – the beautiful home which had stood so majestically against the backdrop of the beautiful mountain range. There was nothing there now. Just a burned lot trying to recover from the damage. The debris had been removed but the energy was palpably heavy and sad. We sat in the car and I sat in silence as she expressed emotions that she had not been able to voice. Sometimes there are just no words. Sometimes what is needed is someone to just love you and hold space for you to be you. Many times Ruth and I sit in silence with each other. It is comfortable. We do not fret over what the other is thinking or try to make small talk. We have many wonderful times of creating and playing together but some of the most beautiful moments are found in the silence, just happy to be in each other’s presence. I believe that is the mark of a true friend.
Dear Angels, I have been blessed this lifetime with the joy of close friendships and I appreciate them all. When there is a special bond of friendship we feel with another human, is that by Divine design?
Dear Ones, indeed you have many soul contracts and you fulfill them at different stages of your life after you incarnate. Some find each other right away as it is your journey to hold each other throughout the lifetime. Others you call to you later in life for a special purpose, perhaps to help you understand some of the hard lessons you encountered. Whatever your Divine destiny, when you meet one of these soul family members you recognize it immediately. Cherish that bond that exists. You are completing a contract with each other and in doing so, fulfilling a contract with your Creator. In bonding with your soul family you are learning the true lesson – oneness. Remember to always see the equality of each other. There is no hierarchy, Dear Ones, as all are one. Love each other fully without hesitation or reservation. Do not judge or criticize as doing so only brings you back to the illusion of separation. Celebrate each win with cheers and smiles. Laugh often. Cry together as in doing so you acknowledge each other’s pain and joy. In honoring each other, you are honoring God.
Dear Angels, thank you for the sweet reminder of how to treat each other and how to remember our oneness. I love you. Namaste y’all.
Today,I promise to love unconditionally and hold onto each precious moment with my soul family, especially those who have chosen to stand by my side no matter what.
