Wildflowers
“I will build mansions of wisdom in the unfading garden of peace, resplendent with blossoms of beautiful soul-qualities. “ Paramansa Yogananda
Some of the wisest people I know share their wisdom joyfully. Have you even watched a young child as they discover wildflowers for the first time? The flower can be a beautiful surprise just sitting out in nature, given freely for all to admire and drink in its fragrance. The little child is not aware that it just grew, doesn’t question where it came from and why. No, the child just plucks it and cherishes it as though it is the most special gift ever. If given the freedom to explore and accept God’s presents, the child will grow to expect these miracles and more throughout life. He or she will become one of the wise ones, sharing out wisdom freely and gleefully just as they received the flower.
I asked the angels for guidance on accepting the wildflowers of life without having to analyze the why or how.
Dear Ones, you speak all the right words asking for peace, harmony, unity and beauty in your life. You constantly cry out about injustice and limitations. You trample the wildflowers as you walk about. They are everywhere. They are free to enjoy yet what do you do? You wail and complain. You prefer the roses of life – wildflowers are not good enough. You want bigger and better yet you complain about the cost of necessities. Do you not see, Dear Ones, that your disrespect of resources on your earth plane is leading to a road that will be full of dried up wildflowers, deep potholes, and destruction of your natural resources? You came here to help the planet and to enjoy your life here. Ask yourself how you are fulfilling that mission. Look at yourself first, then outwardly. Do not judge another without first looking to see your own actions, your own thoughts and your own words. Admire the wildflowers and know that they are a gift given freely from the very heart of your Earth Mother. Seek solace in her warm embrace of you and show her that you can be just as delighted with a wildflower as you can a rose.
These lyrics to the song “The Rose” written by Amanda McBroom speaks to my heart after the angels wise words:
Some say, "Love. It is a river That drowns the tender reed" Some say, "Love. It is a razor That leaves your soul to bleed" Some say, "Love. It is a hunger An endless aching need" I say, "Love. It is a flower And you its only seed"
